Edgerton Community Band
The Edgerton Community Band is a volunteer organization of woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians from Edgerton, Evansville and the surrounding communities. The ensemble provides opportunities for local musicians from all walks of life to share their talents, develop their abilities, and make connections with other musicians. Founded in 2022, the band rehearses once per week and is multi-generational, including players of all ages and ability levels. We strive to perform quality concert band literature that will entertain, inspire, educate and enhance the cultural life of our patrons and performers. The variety of music includes symphonic band arrangements, marches, popular hits, classical works, Dixieland, big band, musical theatre, and solo features. The band is funded through generous donations and sponsorships from individuals and organizations in the communities that we serve.
While the band is fortunate to have members who are trained musicians and local band directors themselves, many within the band are simply amateurs who enjoy continuing to play their instruments. They spend their days in such varied professions as lawyers, accountants, scientists, computer specialists, teachers, and homemakers. This diversity among the band members creates a feeling of what a community group should be; friends and neighbors coming together to create beautiful music.
